Heath’s career in the water and wastewater field began early in his high school years as he was employed to install septic systems specializing in sand filters. In 2004, he went to work for Luckiamute Domestic Water Cooperative, a rural water district that covering a 165 square mile service area near Monmouth, Oregon. As the utility manager, Heath obtained his WD 2 certification and upgraded the system which included a number expansions, main installations, well and pump upgrades, controls, and leak loss improvements. In 2008, he went to work for OAWU as a Circuit Rider. Heath is the Programs Manager and Circuit Rider for OAWU.
Most of Heath’s experience is in water system management, distribution and construction, though he does have cross training in water and wastewater treatment and wastewater collections. The combination of his hands-on field experience, quick study and vast regulations comprehension with overall utility operations and management experience and work ethics make Heath a valued asset to the Association and to the members of OAWU.
Heath’s hobbies include hunting, fishing tinkering with old cars and working on his property where he and his wife Rose built a new home in 2010. Heath and Rose have two sons, Colin who was born in 2013 and Finn who was born in 2018.
