      Description: This class will be a real-world discussion utilizing a diagram of an actual water treatment facility to give attendees the knowledge necessary to test for their level 3, 4, Water Treatment, Distribution Certification, as well as Filter Endorsement. Different types of water filtration plants that are used in the water industry will be discussed in depth as well as proper operations of those filters focusing specifically on the math required to run Conventional and Direct Water Filtration plants. The math required to install, bring into service, and operate the Distribution systems served by these Water Filtration Plants will also be discussed.

Review will include pretreatment, basic math, trickling filters, RBC, basic activated sludge, lagoons, wastewater disinfection, sludge digestion, solids handling, and lab procedures.

      Description: Engineers and operators alike will learn the “ins” and “outs” of hydraulic control valves. This discussion begins with basic hydraulics and how hydraulics automatically operate control valves to manage system pressure. The 6-hour hands-on session will demonstrate valve and pilot internals, troubleshooting, maintenance, and managing a complete control valve system.
