New CCR Electronic Delivery Options Means Serious Money Savings for Water Systems
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has validated the option to electronically deliver Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs). OAWU supports this movement and believes the expanded interpretation of the CCR Rule’s delivery options is in the best interest of membership.
In a memorandum released early January 2013, the EPA clarifies the requirement that water suppliers “mail or otherwise directly deliver” the report is not restricted to post office or hand delivery. The EPA indicates that certain forms of electronic delivery are in compliance with the regulation, so long as the system is providing the report directly to the customer and is making a “good faith effort” to reach those who do not receive communications through primary means.
