Compensation: Utility Worker I $4,389 – $5,240 per month; Utility Worker II $4,608 – $5,502 per month. Salary is dependent on qualifications and certifications.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, FLSA Non-Exempt

About the Position
Come join the City of Philomath! The City is accepting applications for one Utility Maintenance Worker I or II to join the City’s Public Works Department. This is a full-time, AFSCME union position with excellent benefits. Philomath is nestled at the base of Marys Peak, the highest point in the Oregon Coast Range, where residents enjoy the mild climate of the Mid-Willamette Valley. The population is approximately 5,800.
The person in this position will serve the community by performing a variety of maintenance work and operates various equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of municipal water, wastewater, street, storm water drainage, park, and municipal facilities and systems.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of work experience related to utility work, construction, maintenance, repairs, or similar field.
- Pass a comprehensive background investigation including driving.
Licenses and Certifications
- Possession of a valid driver’s license at time of appointment, a satisfactory driving record; and possession of and capability of maintaining valid Oregon Class A Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 12 months of appointment.
- Possession Competent Person Certification, First Aid/CPR, and Flagger Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of appointment.
