Repair/Maintenance Worker

Rickreall Community Water Association

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have basic knowledge of plumbing and be able to make minor repairs. Must be able to work in all types of weather and walk in all types of terrain.  Must be able to follow instructions and willing to work off of work-orders.  Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Regular work hours of 40 hours per week will be from 7am until 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday, 7am – 3pm Wednesday and Thursday and 7am – Noon on Friday. Must be available in emergency situations regardless of time of day or day of the week. Must also be available in rare cases of emergency.

Pay starts at $22.00 an hour, will be negotiable and dependent on experience. We offer an insurance stipend, paid vacation and sick leave.

DESCRIPTION:

  1. Maintaining all wells, tanks and pumping stations. Includes monitoring “alert conditions” and responding.
  1. Meter reading on a monthly basis.
  1. Routine exercising of valves
  1. Routine brush cutting, including cutting, clean-up and burning as needed.
  1. Replacing meters, pressure regulators, broken meter boxes, backflow etc. As needed.
  1. Repairing minor line breaks.
  1. Keeping the maps up to date and marking lines whenever possible.
  1. Taking water samples as needed. (Routine as well as special.)
  1. Doing all necessary locates ordered from OUNC, and meeting with contractors as needed. Includes emergency locates as needed 24/7.
  1. Purchasing and delivering parts for new connections as well as being on hand to assist with hook-ups for the purpose of running parts, valving, flushing etc.
  1. Purchasing and maintaining a stock of misc. parts for emergency and everyday use.
  1. Customer relations. Including but not limited to everyday problems, emergencies, etc. in a professional manner, and documenting information. May also include assisting customer with broken lines etc.
  1. Routine flushing of lines.
  1. Completing all work orders in full and returning them to the office at the end of the workday.
  1. Must be willing to work with and communicate with the Manager and other office staff on a regular basis.
  1. Must clean the company vehicle on a regular basis and keep at least 1/2 a tank of gas in it at all time.
  1. And any other task that may be assigned.
