Duties and Responsibilities:
Turner Public Works Position Announcement
Turner Public works is hiring for seasonal employees. The purpose of these positions is for spring and summer time help for the public works department in parks. The hired candidate must have a flexible work schedule as these positions may be required to work outside normal business hours (partial weekend/late afternoon).
Pay is $15.00-17.00hr DOE
General requirements are:
•
Ability to safely operate a department issued vehicle (if over 18 and has acceptable driving record).
•
Ability to safely operate various equipment. (riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, ect…).
•
Ability to safely use various hand tools (rakes, shovels, hand clippers).
•
General knowledge of lawn care/park maintenance.
•
Ability to follow directions (written and verbal).
•
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
•
Good customer service skills.
•
Ability to walk/work on uneven, rough terrain, kneel and bend.
•
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
•
Work in adverse weather conditions (high heat, low humidity, rain, and wind).
•
Preference will be given to individuals with certificates or licenses related to lawn care.
These positions are seasonal typically 4 months in length. These positions will be as close to full-time as possible with flexibility.
