The City of North Plains is hiring a full-time Public Works Operations Manager to lead day-to-day field operations across water distribution, streets, stormwater, parks, facilities, and grounds. This hands-on leadership role supervises Public Works crew members, plans and assigns daily work, coordinates contractors and vendors, supports inspections and right-of-way work, and helps ensure safe, reliable, and efficient public services.
The City is a growing small community in Washington County focused on strengthening internal Public Works capacity, improving maintenance systems, and preserving long-term infrastructure. This position is intended to support consistent field operations while allowing the Public Works Director to focus on administration, capital projects, regulatory coordination, emergency management, budgeting, and broader City priorities.
Minimum qualifications include Oregon Water Distribution II certification or eligible reciprocity, five years of related operational experience, two years of lead or supervisory experience, a valid Oregon driver license, and ability to obtain a CDL within 12 months. Candidates should be comfortable with field work, emergency response, crew accountability, teamwork, and practical problem solving in a small-city service environment.
Salary: $90,000-$114,505 annually. First review: June 1, 2026. Open until filled.
