Mark was the OAWU Office Manager for 20 years from 2000 – 2020. He could have retired in 2019, but who retires at 19 years? During the first few years with them, he returned to college and acquired his BA in Accounting at Linfield University. After a few years of retirement, he has returned to the association and is helping part time as an Administrative/Financial/Lead Line assistant. Mark enjoyed 30 plus years in the Fast-Food Restaurant Management field before joining OAWU. Five of those years were managing the Sybil’s Omelets Restaurant in Salem, OR.
Mark is married and recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. They have two daughters, one son, and eight grandchildren with one more due in September 2024, making it nine in total. His oldest granddaughter will be graduating from Washinton State University May 2025 and the next oldest granddaughter graduated from Grand Canyon University April 2024.
In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family and friends. Gardening and helping immediate neighbors with projects are also on his list. In addition to being a member in his church’s handbell choir, he serves on a couple committees, and will gladly share his faith and belief in God with you
