$5,848.00-$7,464.00 Per Month D.O.Q. Position is Open Until Filled

The City of Cottage Grove is currently seeking to fill the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent. The City of Cottage Grove (population 10,729) is nestled in the Southern Willamette Valley; a small town with an abundance of outdoor recreation including two lakes, swimming/water recreation, bike trails, fishing, hiking all while surrounded by beautiful scenery. With our close proximity to neighboring larger cities, Cottage Grove offers the unique advantages of living/working in a small town yet is only a short drive to neighboring larger cities. Cottage Grove has a thriving and quaint downtown, featuring specialty shops and restaurants, weekly farmers market, art walks, and seasonal/holiday festivities.

The Superintendent position performs various job duties to ensure the efficient treatment and compliance of the facility, including all operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Plant. The Superintendent must have experience and knowledge of Wastewater Treatment, Maintenance, Safe Working Practices, Math, Problem Solving, Completion and filing of DEQ reports and all other facets of running a treatment facility. The Wastewater Treatment Plant is a class 4 facility, capable of treating 12.0 MGD.

The City of Cottage Grove offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The hiring range for this position is $5,848.00 to $7,464.00 per month D.O.Q. The City of Cottage Grove provides a comprehensive benefits package including low deductible medical insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, PERS retirement, and generous sick/vacation/holiday leave accruals.

Qualifications:

  • Five years’ experience in Wastewater Treatment
  • Possess a Level 3 (or higher) Wastewater Treatment Certification
  • Have the ability to obtain Level 4 Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience or any satisfactory combination of education and/or experience.
