Seasonal Water Distribution Worker

Salary: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)

We are seeking an individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in the drinking water industry – specifically in water distribution to join our skilled team for one full-time, temporary assignment up to six-months.  Assignment begins June 22, 2026. 

Seasonal Worker – Water Distribution

This position is responsible for assisting our field crew in the repair and maintenance of the District’s water distribution system by performing the following duties:

  • Assist with maintenance of water mains, service lines, water meters and boxes, fire hydrants, blow-offs, air reliefs and valves
  • Independently perform additional support tasks such as backfilling small excavations, landscape restoration and debris removal, construction site cleanup, stock parts and materials, maintain trucks and equipment
  • Grounds maintenance including general facility cleaning, pressure washing and painting
  • Use computer technology to collect and enter field data for documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Valid Oregon driver license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to perform daily, repetitive and very demanding physical tasks, lift up to 50 lbs. and also in adverse weather conditions
  • Manual dexterity and strength to use a variety of hand tools and equipment
  • Ability to recognize and respond to various hazards while working near the roadway
  • Ability to drive large pickups with occasional limited visibility and towing
  • Preference for applicants enrolled in a 2-year water environmental technology program
  • Preference for experience in underground utility construction or heavy equipment operation, flagger card and competent person training.

Pay Rate:                             $24.00 – $26.00 per hour  (depending on qualifications)
