Utility Worker I or Utility Worker II

City of Halsey

Accepting applications for a Public Works Utility Worker I or Utility Worker II.

This position assists in the operation and maintenance of the city Water, Wastewater, and Storm Water utilities.  The position also performs routine maintenance of city-owned property, buildings, streets, vehicles, equipment, parks, and grounds. This is a full-time position working under the direction of the Lead Utility Worker and the City Administrator/City Recorder.  The best qualified candidate will be a team player with strong oral and written communication skills, computer skills, and excellent customer service.  This position requires rotating weekend on call duty and after hour and weekend emergency call outs.  Possession of certifications in Wastewater Collection I, Wastewater Treatment I, Water Treatment I and Water Distribution I is preferred.  Ability to acquire these certifications within an appropriate amount of time is required, as well as a Class A CDL driver’s license endorsement.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to use tact, discretion, confidentiality, and courtesy when working with the public, the Council, and other staff members.  A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
