The City of Hubbard is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Utility Worker I. The position, under the lead of the Public Works Superintendent, is a full-time (40 hours per week) position.
REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school or equivalent, valid driver’s license, CPR/1st Aid Certification or Ability to obtain within 12 months of hire, Certified Public Applicator License for Pesticides or Ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, and the ability to work with hand and power tools is required. Strenuous physical work is required which may involve lifting heavy objects, bending twisting, working above the ground/in trenches or in confined spaces or on irregular surfaces, usually out of doors in conditions that may be wet and cold or otherwise unpleasant working conditions; must reside within 30-minute response time on the basis of availability for on call and/or emergency services.
Duties include general maintenance, mowing, trimming, litter removal, responding to customer calls, operation of a personal computer, operate automotive and power equipment including light, moderate, and heavy equipment in the operation and maintenance of street, park, water, and sewer systems. This position may assist all departments in Public Works.
The successful candidate will exhibit a professional attitude, demonstrate the ability to take direction from a superior, enjoy working with the public and take pride in their work.
Excellent benefit package; Salary range: $3,451 – $4,200 per month, or $19.91 – $24.23 per hour.
