Public Works Director Opening

City of Lafayette

The City of Lafayette is searching for its first Public Works Director. The Public Works Director will plan and oversee the operations of the water and wastewater utility system as well as manage a growing stormwater system. Lafayette continues to be one of the fastest-growing cities in the area which will provide the Public Works Director with a number of opportunities to contribute to the community and help move Lafayette into the future.

Opportunities will include planning for the expansion or replacement of the wastewater treatment plant; managing ongoing development both commercial and residential; and continuing to develop a very dedicated staff of public works professionals. The Public Works Director will also work closely with the City Administrator and Assistant City Administrator to update and develop long-range strategic plans and work to engage the public at a greater level.

Benefits include a flexible schedule, PERS, medical and dental, optional enhanced life insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO). The salary range for this FLSA-exempt position is $85,000 to $95,000 per year., DOQ, along with possible stipends for personal vehicle and technology use.
