Lake Whatcom Water & Sewer District is seeking an experienced District Engineer/Engineering Manager for this well-managed organization headquartered in Bellingham, WA. The District serves 11,000 customers in an 18 square-mile area located wholly within the uniquely beautiful and environmentally sensitive Lake Whatcom watershed.

Located in the northwest corner of Washington state, Bellingham epitomizes the Pacific Northwest lifestyle and consistently ranks as a highly desirable place to live. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, the city is surrounded by stunning natural beauty and known as a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

Reporting to the General Manager, the District Engineer is responsible for managing and directing all engineering activities in the design and construction of District and developer-funded projects. This position supervises the Engineering Department staff comprised of the Construction Engineer (a PE) and Engineering Technician/Safety Officer. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, responsive, and dedicated; lead by example and adhere to high ethical standards; and have a public service-oriented mindset.
